Chicago Reader Box
By: Nick & Nadine
Client: Chicago Reader / Guilt City
Date: 2011
Edition: 1 Box, 300 prints
All the artists (Object Design League, Golden Age, Tim Parson & Jessica Charlesworth) of We Are Here: Art & Design Out of Context, a design show at the Museum of Contemporary Art that opened in July, 2011, were commissioned to refurbish old Chicago Reader boxes for a benefit event for the institution. Of course we couldn’t pass on the opportunity to use this real estate as a gallery, as it was going to go back out into the streets. We also made 300 prints, titled Commercial Improvisation, that we placed in the box for people to discover and have. Now that’s take away in it’s street form.
