Early in 2011 Ork Posters and Sonnenzimmer teamed up to create a special collaborative edition of Ork’s iconic Chicago neighborhood map. Using test prints collected from Sonnenzimmer’s years of designing and printing posters as a starting point, the collaborators created 50 one-of-a-kind map posters that not only display the city’s diverse neighborhoods, but also its active cultural scene. Ork’s locale-loving, type heavy maps make the perfect match for Sonnenzimmer’s distinctive colors and geometric play, creating a hybrid art piece that is both hyper local and hyper awesome! With both studios located on the north side of town it was inevitable that they would eventually meet up and make something together.
