It’s not too often that you get a chance to make a poster for the Guggenheim. When longtime collaborators Andrew Bird and Specimen Products‘ Ian Schneller approached us about making a poster commemorating their installation, Sonic Arboretum, at one of New York’s most iconic museums, we jumped in excitement. This would be our Banksy? If you’ve seen Andrew Bird perform over the past couple of years, you’ve probably noticed the beautiful Victrola-inspired speakers that accompany him on stage. Chicago-based artist and craftsmen, Ian Schneller, is the man behind these gems. Using 46 speakers; large, small, spinning, and still, Andrew played in the “Sonic Arboretum”.
