The Society of Typographic Arts is a Chicago-based organization focusing on the preservation and continuation of the graphic arts in Chicagoland. Established in 1927, STA has gone through many phases of activity throughout their long history, most recently spearheading the development of the Chicago Design Archive . The mission of the CDA is to document and preserve the great design that happens here in Chicago. The collection is pretty amazing, with work dating all the way back to 1869. Beginning in 2005, the STA began to actively expand the collection through a yearly design competition called Archive. Archive chairman, Bob Zeni, commissioned us to produce a commemorative poster limited to a strict edition of 135.
