In November of 2011, we were invited to travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to speak with the city’s oldest graphic design professional organization, The Art Directors Club of Tulsa. Made up of students and working professionals, the ADCT acts as meeting point for folks interested in the ins and outs of graphic design in the modern age. Current president, Winston Peraza is leading the group with in a distinctly forward thinking manner. Rather than the typical portfolio run through, Winston asked us to speak about our creative process, our place in contemporary design, and the future of the discipline. We were also asked to design and print a poster for the occasion, which were given away at lecture. The posters make use of artwork created for past projects, as well as the demolition happening just outside of our studio in November of 2011. The underlying theme being the construction of something new out of something old.
