Positive Beat Recordings is a local Chicago label releasing a great mix of rock and experimental music. Founded by painter, Micheal Hunter, just a few years back, Positive Beat is focusing on well crafted music. The corner stone of the label is Cains & Abel, a local trio, who fuse plain spoken rock with picturesque lyrics and a warm fragility. We were hired to create a poster for their appropriately-titled new EP, The Price is Right. A digital only, name your price download, the poster acts as physical evidence of the recorded music’s existence. Fusing painterly expression with textural complexity we hoped to match the dark, yet hopeful atmosphere that Cains & Abels create in their beautifully honest music.
