Christian Fennesz is an Austrian musician and composer heralded for his guitar-based electronic works. His breakthrough album, Endless Summer, and its predecessors, Venice, set the tone for much of the melodic drone-based electronic music that has followed. Injecting emotional dynamics and warmth into a music known for its cool austerity, Fennesz has helped open up the genre to new listeners and fans. David Daniell, a southern-bred Chicago-based musician works in similar territory, though more focused on the guitar itself, creating long form melodic ambiance.
