Girls Rock! Chicago is the windy city’s very own rock camp for girls, where they (ages from 8-16) can learn the basics of band life. In the summer, the camp has two session’s and we were asked to make posters for the End of Camp Extravaganza that follow each. Taking place at the Bottom Lounge these gig’s give the girls a chance to show off their stuff in front of happy parents and fans. For this set of posters, we wanted to capture the energy and fun atmosphere of the camp. Mixing a graffiti inspired type treatment with a collage punk aesthetic, these small posters pack a punch! Having grown up in the 90′s where bands just toured because they simply just did it, we see this program as a passing of a torch to the younger generation. These camps are pretty Americana, d.i.y!
