Poetry Foundation has just opened an amazing new building to celebrate it’s art form in the heart of downtown Chicago. Built by local architecture firm, John Ronan Architecture, this building makes a seamless connection to the city’s rich architectural legacy. The city of Mies van der Rohe now has another great building for the public to explore. Get a load of this, Poetry ‘s new building has an open door policy. For the grand opening, we were commissioned to design and print a series of broadsides which were read at the event in the building’s very special reading room, designed especially for the acoustics of the human voice. Inspired by formants, concrete art and poetry, the image library was generated using wave forms created by reading the poems aloud.
