This poster, When Words Meet Images was for an art history symposium, put on by some terrific students in Columbia College”s Art and Design Department. The symposium is part of Manifest, Columbia”s Urban Arts Festival that takes place in Chicago every year in May. The title for this event was very striking. It was hard to find a singular visual common denominator. We went through multiple versions before settling on this solution. A simple form exercise mirroring the text block conveying the event information; the text literally as image.
