Yeasayer
Sold out.
What do houses in Greenland, European avalanches, Mongolian dancers, and Swiss train tickets have in common? Well… I’m not sure, but they all managed to find their way into this poster for New York dark funk pop group, Yeasayer. Creating a kind of future-world dance music that rides the line between classic 80′s eclecticism and post modern shatter, these guys are making some pretty damn fun music. We wanted to make an image as rich and detailed as Yeasayers tunes, that creates visual dance floor. The heavy pattern was a first for us. It simultaneously resembles “the future” and art by some far flung indigenous group from 400 years ago. This poster was commissioned for the show at Ballroom Marfa, an arts and cultural center smack dab in the middle of the Texas desert.
