Along side Chicago's robust music scene is a vibrant and thriving set of designers and artists producing its show posters, t-shirts and album covers. This group exhibition will feature a selection of fine art prints by some of the leading screen printers associated with Chicago music. Curated by Anchor Graphics and on exhibit at the A+D Gallery.

NEXT Art Fair | Merchandise Mart, Chicago, IL | 04/25/08 - 04/28/08

Thanks to Noah and Mike of Imperfect Articles, who curated a section of the NEXT Art Fair, namely GOFFO. We got invited to participate in this huge international art fair, here in Chicago, amongst other great small local presses and artist projects such as the Green Lantern, Thrill Jockey, Featherproof Press... It was an overwhelming experience. You know you're into it head over, when you gots a 40 page manual to go through!



ART IN THE TIME OF PLAGIARISM: A Plagiarist Art Show | Chicago, IL | 04/04/08 - 04/05/08
The Plagiarists invited you to an art show featuring the work of Tony Fitzpatrick, Nick Butcher, Nice Lena, I'm Smitten, Mat Daly, Emily Rapport, Kingdom Kilpatrick, Nadine Nakanish and Quang Hong at the Lotus Keep Gallery. Artists displayed and sold their works in a show entitled, ART IN THE TIME OF PLAGIARISM: A Plagiarist Art Show . A portion of all sales from the show went towards The Plagiarists, non-for-profit. Rader Eyes | Chicago, IL | March 7 - 22
"Radar Eyes" - Canadian Print duo Seripop and their Lumpen friends in Chicago currated a large group show representing the works of experimental printmakers on March 7, 2008. The show, Radar Eyes, contained work sharing a similar aesthetic highlighting the talents of artists and designers making hand drawn, ephemeral work. Many of the prints depict distortions of perception, altered states of awareness and geometric, sometimes hallucinogenic subject matter or compositions.

On the weekend of July 14th & 15th Pitchfork Music Festival hosted the Flatstock 13 poster convention. In affiliation with this event, the Butchershop presented with the American Poster Institute, the show Posters Schmosters. Flatstock 13 | Chicago, IL | 07/14/07 - 07/14/07
Sonnenzimmer was proud to be a part of Flatstock 13 during the Pitchfork Music Festival at Union Park, Chicago. Fellow poster artists from around the North America were attending. We sure enjoyed hanging out outside for the weekend and exchanging thoughts and pouts about the state of the world and how we all love music. Thanks for coming out and sipping some summery lemonade among all the posters.



Sound in Print | MTSU Gallery | Murfreesburo, TN | 03/12/07 - 03/30/07
"Sound in Print: The Art of the Contemporary Music Poster" Show in Murfreesburo, Tennessee. The Sound in Print exhibit at the MTSU Todd Gallery was a show that celebrated music poster art and design. Over 50 participants ? amongst many Chicago Poster Artists ? showed approximately 250 limited edition posters that showcased a variety of art and design styles incorporating silkscreen and letterpress techniques.
