Summer 2008

Thank you for checking back in. Here our latest:

We'll be attending the first Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco in July. We are excited to combine pleasure and buiznessissnessnessness. Please come on out, if you are in the Bay Area go to Fort Mason and slap us a high five. It's accessible through public transportation and we are sure they will be tons (like a big wale) of neat stuff for you to browse through. The Renegade Craft Fair was established in Chicago and has expanded to New York and San Francisco. Needless to say we are proud to represent Chicago's silkscreen printing out on the coast.

Nick's 2nd full length album (vinyl!), it's called Bee Removal and is out (thank goodness - never thought it's like walking through the Gobi desert in search of water) and available through Home Tapes. The artwork for the album is by Chris Kerr, a favorite local homie artist matador of ours. Please check out his site for fun times. There are only 500 of this first pressing, so be fast. If you know anyone, who can review it, pass this news along. It's 2008 and we don't need no reps. except all of us. Hells yeah!

There's two new posters (Efterklang, Immediate Sound Series), Nick made in our poster section, if you are interested in buying them. They won't last long, I think, cuz the reaction towards these new prints have been positive. Check 'em out.

We're excited to have in the works a 2008 Adventures in Modern Music, Wire's Music Festival poster, a collaboration between Nick and me. I'm working on a gig for Lagwagon's show at the Metro in September. If you think we can only do abstract stuff, well stayed tuned to give it up to some Santa Barbara pop-punk. We actually found the new semiotic symbol for punk rock. Stay tuned for more.

Also in progress is a new website. With the help of Michael Bingaman and Jon Krohn, we are confident to have this blasting out soon. So finally, you and us, can be less confused about our site. They have done awesome work and anytime we can pass the word on about them, we get a beer (na, that's not true..). Please take a minute and go to their site: Michael Bingaman, Jon Krohn

June 26 - July 23, 2008
That's what they say:
Along side Chicago's robust music scene is a vibrant and thriving set of designers and artists producing its show posters, t-shirts and album covers. This group exhibition will feature a selection of fine art prints by some of the leading screen printers associated with Chicago music. You have seen their work for your favorite bands, now come see what they do for themselves. Curated by Anchor Graphics and on exhibit at the A+D Gallery. Opening reception June 26, 5-8pm.
The exhibit is up for a month, so if you are in the downtown Chicago area, stop on by. All artists also printed on the walls for the exhibit. Works are for sale through artists directly.

This is what we say:
Shit! We get to make art! Yess, let's do it. We're busting our asses off with this upcoming show, who knows if it will stand for itself, you be the judge!

Image above: Nick's print, that he did in an artist residency in Austin, Texas at Decoder Ring. The print is titled Dry land, 13-colors with partial wax layering. If you are interested in the process or want to purchase his art print, go to this ->link.
