Upcoming Releases
Pop It!
Stay tuned for the release of our collaborative letterpress/screen print edition with artist and activist Ben Blount. This work was the culmination of our collaborative endeavors working with the Newberry Library on the exhibition catalog for Chicago Avant Garde: Five Women Ahead of their Time. (Coming in March)
Three Sides of a Line
A book documenting our 2021 experimental performative Zoom lecture with Kiley Brandt hosted by Florida State University. In it, we explore the ramifications of the Holographic Principle, back here on Earth. (Coming in April)
Cat Pose
Since mid 2021, we've been working with musician Ryan Norris on a very special audio/visual project inspired by a shared interest in audio loops, imaging, and Schrödinger's cat. We'll be releasing an LP publication of original audio with an accompanying collaborative essay this summer.
Current Commissions
Third Coast Percussion
We're honored to be creating our 5th album cover for this Grammy Award winning ensemble. Perspectives features compositions from Jlin, Philip Glass, Danny Elfman, and Flutronix. Each album feels like a fresh start for us, thanks to the exploratory openness this group brings to their practice.
TAK Ensemble with Ashkan Behzadi
NYC-based ensemble, TAK, has teamed up with composer Ashkan Bedzadi for a beautiful collection of music, poetry, exploratory texts, and images called Love, Crystal and Stone. The book/CD features contributions from Saharnaz Samaeinejad and Mehrdad Jafari and centers around poetry from Federico García Lorca with Persian translations by Ahmad Shamlou. We're designing the publication and learning so much.
Poetry Foundation
We've just wrapped up a triptych of magazine covers for Poetry (March, April, May). The kicker is that we got to animate each one.
Scott Stack
Chicago painter Scott Stack has a been a mainstay exploring a number of contiguous themes in his beautiful work. His 2015 Chicago Cultural Center exhibition blew us away. We're excited to be developing a website cataloging his work from the last few years.
Press Press
Baltimore-bred publishing collective Press Press is collecting their ambitious work into a book, and we're honored to be designing it. Kimi Hanauer & Lu Zhang are guiding us through loads of amazing material to help tell this important story.

[ ID: A fish-eye aerial perspective of Sonnenzimmer's studio, in view, is a screen printing hand-press on which a small screen is set up, to the side is an automatic screen printing press. On the walls are squeegees and flood bars, and a poster. A bald man in paint-covered overalls has his back to the camera and is holding a paint container. A woman, with dark hair in a ponytail, wearing a bright baseball cap, is looking down, face not visible. She is dipping a paintbrush into a container. Both are surrounding a rolling cart filled with various paint colors. ]
