Simultaneous: Seripop & Sonnenzimmer Exhibit Catalog

Simultaneous: Seripop + Sonnenzimmer documents two collaborative art practices in a single exhibition at Columbia College Chicago’s Center for Book and Paper Arts. We’ve had a long standing relationship with the Center and were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them for this dual exhibit with our graphic heros, Seripop (Yannick Desranleau and Chloe Lum). With both practices rooted in printed matter and the context of the Center, we felt it important to document the exhibit with a catalog. However, this is not a traditional overview of the exhibit itself, instead this publication showcases images of the artists’ preparation for the exhibition, featuring past work and studio shots, brought down to earth by essays from curator Julia V. Hendrickson and critic, Lauren Weinberg. Breaking many of the rules that define such publications (clear captioning of images, showcasing only polished finished pieces), the catalog pulls at the seams of definitive documentation to offer up something more inline with each of our artistic practices.
