Askew

Askew and it's companion piece, Ashore, were created as part of our 2020 exhibition, Inchworm. The works in the exhibition explored a simple notion; when does the surface stop and the image begin? Pinging between surface and recognition, these multimedia paintings employ guazy wet in wet image armature with sharp graphic rendering floating ontop. The lonely sand dollar in each of the pieces swivels between stasis and distortion.
